With your See Tasmania Smartvisit Card, you will receive FREE Entry to Home Hill.
Home Hill was the home of Joseph Lyons who was Premier of Tasmania from 1923 to 1939 and Prime Minister of Australia from 1932 to 1939. Lyons is the only Tasmanian to hold the latter title, and the only Australian to be both a State Premier and Prime Minister of the Commonwealth.
|
Home Hill was built in 1916, a year after his marriage and except for a period of five years, remained Lyons home for the rest of his life. The house and grounds are now owned by the City of Devonport and the contents by the National Trust. Home Hill is as Dame Enid Lyons left it and contains many interesting and historic mementos of the life of a Prime Minister.
Home Hill is just one of over 60 attractions that make up the sightseeing pass known as the See Tasmania Smartvisit Card. This smartcard allows you entry and special discounted offers to this attraction and many more. |
