With your See Tasmania Smartvisit Card, you will receive a FREE National Parks Day Pass to Mt Field National Park.
The Mt. Field National Park is approximately an hour' drive out of Hobart. Its designation as a National Park in 1916 makes it the oldest one in Tasmania. There's excellent walking to be done here. As you cross this ancient glaciated landscape to Russell Falls, make
|
sure to look up at the stately giant eucalypts above - just don't trip on their roots across the path.
Some of the trees are over 400 years old, reach heights of 90 metres and measure up to 20 metres around the base. Within the park are Horseshoe and Lady Barron Falls, accessible by a short walk. An evening spotlight walk along the Russell Falls track will reward with views of glow worms in the rainforest.
Mt Field National Park is just one of over 60 attractions that make up the sightseeing pass known as the See Tasmania Smartvisit Card. This smartcard allows you entry and special discounted offers to this attraction and many more. |
