With your See Tasmania Smartvisit Card, you will receive 50% OFF a One-Way Train Ride* with West Coast Wilderness Railway.
This is one of the most talked-about tourist attractions in Tassie. Built in 1896, the West Coast Wilderness Railway was used to transport ore mined at Mt Lyell to the ports of Teepookana and Strahan. The terrain was too steep for any other form

of transport and the railway was a big success until its closure in the 1960s.
The lines locomotives were then sent to new homes but two have since been returned, restored and set running on a new track which was built following the original one. The trip passes through some of the world's most remote and stunning locations including spectacular rainforest.
West Coast Wilderness Railway is just one of over 60 attractions that make up the sightseeing pass known as the See Tasmania Smartvisit Card. This smartcard allows you entry and special discounted offers to this attraction and many more. |
